Grease separators

Fats are a constant polluting substance of domestic wastewater. The concentration of fats in sewage from residential buildings does not exceed the permissible values, but when cleaning wastewater from cafes, restaurants, hotels, schools and other similar facilities without special measures for the preliminary treatment of waste water from fats can not be avoided. Fat, getting into the treatment plant, inhibits the development of microorganisms of active sludge. Therefore, if you want to ensure a high quality of wastewater treatment from the above objects, a grease separator must be installed. Our company produces grease separators of high-quality polypropylene with a capacity from 1 to 5 l/s.

How to choose?

When selecting the grease separator type, it is necessary to calculate its maximum output. According to the current regulations, the consumption of sewage from the kitchen sink is 0.3 l/s. Multiplying this number by the number of washes, we get the maximum second consumption of fat-containing sewage. By consumption, you can choose the type of grease separator (see table).

Installation features:

Grease separator must be installed before the mixing of fat-containing sewage from dish washes and domestic wastewater from other sanitary-engineering devices. Therefore, it is necessary to design internal sewer networks with two discharges, separating drains from kitchen sinks, and drains from bathrooms (toilets, bathrooms, showers). The grease separator is mounted in a reinforced concrete well, so that the bottom of the inflow is at the top of the grease separator, or higher than it. Before use, the installed grease separator is filled to the top with clean water. The grease separator requires regular removal of the delayed fats, since when it overflows, fats will flow into the biological wastewater treatment plant, which will adversely affect the efficiency of wastewater treatment. In order to accumulate a smaller amount of floating admixtures in the grease separator, do not pour grease from fryers, frying pans, etc. into the sink – still it will have to be removed from the grease separator.
